Golem Build Tiers

A golem mix is only as good as the Cash it prints after you leave the crafter. Build A Golem asks you to roll or buy parts, assemble them, and send the body into a personal mine. This page ranks mixes by job: starter, cash-engine, and experimental. It does not name a leaked loadout, and it does not pretend there is an official set bonus list. If you need slot-by-slot spending, use the parts tier list. If you need the click order inside the crafter, use how to build golems. Concrete first-hour examples live in starter golem builds.

Servers cap at six players. That is social noise, not a raid composition. Your mix never fights another kingdom and never rides a rebirth island. If a guide tells you to rank spawners, you opened the wrong golem game.

S-tier mix: the starter that actually mines

The best first mix is complete, cheap, and assigned. Completeness beats matching. A body missing a slot cannot work. A body with mixed leftover pieces can. That is the entire starter tier.

Goals for an S-tier starter mix:

  • Every required slot filled from what you already rolled or can buy without emptying the account.
  • Seated in the crafter once, not rebuilt three times for fashion.
  • Walking into the mine before you spend RELEASE on extra rolls.

RELEASE is 75,000 Cash. It should finish this mix, not start a museum. If you still have Cash after the body is assigned, then you may roll. If the mix is still open on the bench, rolls are a downgrade.

A starter mix graduates out of S the moment a replacement body prints more with the same assignment. Until that proof exists, keep the worker working. Rebuilding because a new roll sparkled is how engines die.

A-tier mix: the cash-engine

A cash-engine is a starter you kept because the counter moved, then improved one slot at a time. It is not a full reset. Swap the weakest seated piece when a spare clearly won a mining cycle. Leave the rest alone.

Engine rules:

  1. One change per session unless a Time Skip is already running and you are only collecting.
  2. Compare Cash, not vibes. If the line is flat, revert or park the new piece.
  3. Prefer a second complete engine over a perfect first body that never stays assigned while you tinker.

Offline work is the point of the official description. Engines exist so you can log out. An engine you disassemble every login is a hobby table, not a miner.

When you own two engines, send both. Expanding the mine is on the official how-to list for a reason: extra complete bodies need space. Do not park a working second mix because you are emotionally attached to upgrading only miner one.

B-tier mix: experimental collages

Experimental mixes are allowed after an engine is printing without you. They are how you test whether a new part is output or filler. They are not how you start the account.

Run experiments on a spare body when you can. If you only own one golem, clone the idea, not the worker: note the current parts, change one slot, mine one cycle, then restore if Cash dropped. Never burn THANKS on an experiment that is still on the bench. A 15-minute skip wants an engine in the ground.

Experiments fail often. That is fine. Failures become parked filler, which the parts list already ranked. Successes become the new engine. Promote them only after a cycle, not after the craft animation.

C-tier mix: incomplete fashion projects

Any mix that is not complete is C, including expensive ones. Any complete mix that you refuse to assign because it “looks wrong” is also C. Mining does not check your screenshot.

C-tier habits to drop:

  • Holding the crafter open while Cash sits uncollected.
  • Stripping an engine to try three new rolls at once, so you cannot tell which slot mattered.
  • Copying another player in the six-person server without measuring your own mine.

Fashion can wait until engines pay for it. If a later update adds obvious style-only pieces, treat them as filler until they change Cash. We will not invent a cosmetic tier name to sound official.

How the three mixes share one account

Think of the account as a pipeline, not a wardrobe.

  • Hour one: only the starter mix. See starter golem builds for the two-golem version of this idea.
  • Hours two to N: promote that starter into an engine with single-slot replacements using the parts tier list.
  • After engines pay offline: allow one experimental body.

Late accounts that keep living in hour-one habits should read late game strategy instead of crafting a fourth incomplete collage.

Time Skips and mix quality

THANKS and any shop skip multiply whatever is already mining. They do not grade your fashion. Put the skip on the engine, not on the experiment, not on an empty plot. If you have two engines of different strength, skip the stronger one. That is timeskip value in mix form: the skip inherits the output rank of the body.

If you claimed THANKS before anyone was assigned, you spent a multiplier on zero. Craft, assign, skip—never the reverse.

A promotion checklist

Promote a mix one step up the ladder only when all of these are true:

  • The body is complete.
  • It has finished at least one mining cycle.
  • Cash is up versus the previous occupant of that mine space.
  • You can explain which slot caused the gain.

If you cannot name the slot, you learned nothing and should not rebuild the rest. Demote a mix when a cycle is down or flat after a swap. Park the new piece. Restore the engine. Rolling again is allowed only after that restore.

What we are not ranking

No army compositions. No island clear speeds. No PvP golem kits. No unofficial set names. Build A Golem is a crafter-and-mine loop from mesmerizing (really). Mix tiers follow that loop: complete starter, proven engine, later experiment. Everything else is a different game.

Assembly skill still matters. If the crafter confuses you, stop ranking and open how to build golems. A perfect plan that never clicks together is another C-tier mix.

Retire a starter mix the session after a replacement body posts a higher Cash line with no extra Time Skip. Keep the old parts only if they complete a second miner the same day.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, mining, and crafter questions.

What is the best first golem mix?

Any complete cheap body you can assign before extra rolls. Exact slot names are not published here; completeness is the rank. Walkthroughs are in how to build golems and starter golem builds.

When should I rebuild my starter into a cash-engine?

After it has mined at least one cycle. Then replace one weak slot at a time using the parts tier list. Full resets waste the engine you already proved.

Are experimental mixes ever worth it?

Yes, after an engine is printing offline. Test on a spare body when you can, change one slot, and keep the result only if Cash rose.

Should I use THANKS on a new experimental golem?

No. A 15-minute Time Skip belongs on the highest-output worker already in the mine. Experiments can wait for a normal cycle.

Do I need a matching themed set?

Not for ranking. Matching can be a later experiment. Early and engine tiers care about complete slots and Cash, not a coordinated look.
