First Hour in Build A Golem

Tutorial, codes, first parts, first craft, first assignment, and the next upgrade.

Getting Started

Your first hour in Build A Golem! should produce one working miner, two claimed codes, and a Cash plan. The experience is an incremental mining simulator by mesmerizing (really), live on Roblox since June 26, 2026. You join a six-player server. The avatars around you are real players; the mine you expand is still yours. Treat the room as a shared server with a personal mine, and do not wait for someone else to staff your plots.

This page is the onboarding order. For the loop after you have a miner, read How to Play. For seating parts, read How to Build Golems. For assignment and THANKS timing, read How to Mine. If you cannot find a panel, use Controls.

Join a fresh server and finish the tutorial

If you logged in to redeem codes, prefer a new instance. Promo strings sometimes fail on long-lived servers. After you spawn, finish the tutorial prompts instead of sprinting past them. The tutorial exists to point at the Settings gear, the crafter, and the mine. Skipping it is the usual reason people cannot find Codes later.

Look around once. Note other players if they are present, then ignore them for progression. They cannot take your personal mine. This is also not Build a Golem Army: you will not drop spawners or rebirth an island kingdom in this first hour.

Redeem THANKS and RELEASE before you spend

Open the Settings gear at the top-left of the HUD. That is the in-game redemption UI, not only a graphics panel, and it is not the Roblox Esc menu. Enter THANKS for a 15-minute timeskip and RELEASE for 75,000 Cash, then press Claim. Use the capital spelling. If a code errors, check the letters, leave and join another server, and confirm the account has not already claimed it. Full copy-paste steps live on the codes page.

Do not trigger THANKS yet. A timeskip on an empty mine burns the reward. Bank it until a golem is actually mining. RELEASE Cash is for parts and the first expansion, not for a cosmetic spree in minute five.

First parts: fill slots, read stats

The loop starts with parts. You roll for luck-based pieces and you can buy others when a shop lists something you need. Early on, fill the slots required to complete one body: a head-type piece, a torso-type piece, and limbs if the crafter shows those slots. This wiki does not invent official catalog names. Read the numbers on the part card. Mining rate, work speed, and anything that clearly feeds Cash beat a shiny color.

If RELEASE leaves you with a large pile of Cash, split it. Spend enough to finish one golem, keep a reserve for the first mine expansion, and hold a buffer so a bad roll does not leave you broke. If two pieces fight for one slot, keep the stronger mining stat. Looks are a tie-breaker. When the cards are close, glance at the tier list instead of rolling again in a panic.

First craft in the crafter

Carry those parts to the crafter. Seat each piece in an empty required slot, confirm the assembly, and take the finished golem. If a slot is empty, you will not get a miner you can assign. Mixing parts from different rolls is expected. A mismatched look with a strong mining stat is a good first golem. A matching look with a weak stat is a lobby statue.

If assembly fails, count slots versus inventory before you spend more Cash. The usual miss is one empty required slot, not a hidden recipe. Details and rebuild advice sit on How to Build Golems. For this hour, one complete miner is the win condition.

First mine assignment

Walk the new golem to your personal mine and assign it to a plot or working slot. Unassigned golems do not earn. Watch Cash tick at least once so you know the assignment stuck. Only then consider THANKS. The timeskip fast-forwards work that is already happening; it does not invent workers. Assignment rules and expansion pacing are on How to Mine.

Offline mining is real. If you must log off after the first assignment, the golem should keep producing. That is the point of the first hour: leave a worker running. Coming back to an empty wallet usually means the body never got assigned, not that offline is fake.

What to upgrade next

Spend after the first miner in this order:

  1. A second complete golem if you already have an open plot.
  2. Mine expansion when current plots are filled and parts are waiting.
  3. More rolls aimed at missing slots or better mining stats.
  4. Cosmetics last.

If Cash still feels random after that, the How to Play page is the pacing guide. Rank leftover bodies on the players hub. Time the rest of the session with the session planner so you do not timeskip before assignment. Patch notes sit on updates. Camera and HUD confusion belongs on Controls.

First-hour scorecard

You can leave onboarding when all of this is true: tutorial finished, THANKS and RELEASE claimed, at least one golem assembled, that golem assigned and ticking Cash, THANKS still unused or used only after assignment, and a next buy written down (second miner or expansion). If any box is empty, stay on this checklist instead of browsing paint. The September 1, 2026 update did not change that first-hour shape; it still rewards a working miner over a pretty idle one. When the scorecard is complete, jump to How to Play and treat the rest of the day as a bigger version of the same four steps.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, mining, and crafter questions.

What should I do in the first ten minutes?

Finish the tutorial, open the top-left Settings gear, claim THANKS and RELEASE, then roll or buy enough parts to complete one golem. Do not timeskip yet.

Should I spend THANKS as soon as I redeem it?

No. Redeem it so the reward is on the account, then wait until a golem is assigned and Cash is ticking. Timing is covered in How to Mine.

What should I buy with the 75,000 Cash from RELEASE?

Finish one miner first, keep a buffer, then save toward a second body or the first expansion. Skip cosmetic-only rolls until plots are staffed.

Can other players take my mine during the first hour?

No. You share a six-player server, but mines are personal. Other people can stand nearby; they cannot assign your golems or collect your Cash.

How do I know the first hour is actually finished?

You have a miner ticking, codes claimed, and a next spend chosen. Then move to How to Play instead of repeating the tutorial.
